Kjær Architecture has recently completed a full renovation of a villa in Frederiksberg. The villa was built in the 1920’s by the architect Elliot Hjuler, who designed several houses in the area. The refurbishment preserves the original character of the house, while improving the layout and finishes. The project involves a combination of precise spatial interventions, and restoration of original traits. An important part of the project was adding exterior insulation to the house, and restoring the roof, while maintaining its unique architectural expression.
Key elements of the design include a more open layout that connects a larger living room with a spacious kitchen.
